Nuclear Program

The Iranian regime has been trying to develop nuclear weapons to help it survive. After the 1979 revolution, as soon as Iranians and the youth of the country started to object to the medieval system, the regime began seeking out nuclear weapons technology as an insurance policy against its probable overthrow. So far due to the gridlock, there has been no or little importing of nuclear weapons.

Alireza Jafarzadeh, the Deputy Director of the Washington office of the NCRI, exposed the Iranian regime’s current nuclear program. In August 2002, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) announced for the first time that the Natanz uranium enrichment site and Arak Heavy Water facility.

The NCRI’s revelation unveiled the extent to which the regime’s clandestine nuclear weapons work had advanced. This development and the NCRI’s revelations in other years triggered inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the necessary measures taken by the United Nations Security Council.

The NCRI’s biggest group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), had managed to get key facts regarding the regime’s nuclear activities, through its vast network inside Iran and if it wasn’t for the information they provided who knows where the rest of the middle east and the world would be now. Not long ago the regime’s media outlets acknowledged the MEK’s key role in exposing the mullahs’ nuclear aims.

The IAEA, as a result of international pressure, told Iran it wanted to visit two nuclear sites, and Mr. Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA on August 26th visited Tehran. Following this visit, Mr. Grossi told Tehran that the regime was violating the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, drawn up by world powers which used to be known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). He said there was unauthorized stockpiling of “enriched uranium, installation of centrifuges and unauthorized increase of enrichment percentage.”

Aftab news agency which is a state-run media outlet stated on September 14th that “the important point is that all the accusations and conspiracy of the U.S. and the IAEA are based on the reports of the most hostile enemies of the system, the MEK.”

However, in its recent report, the United States Department of State referred to the Iranian resistance’s efforts in exposing Tehran’s nuclear program. It mentioned how the MEK had uncovered two covert nuclear facilities that were being built in Iran. One is a heavy water production plant at Arak and the other is a “fuel production” plant at Natan.”  The MEK also alleged that Chinese experts were working as supervisors at Iran’s Saghand uranium mine.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the NCRI’s president-elect, said on June 19th that the mullahs’ regime, “has never given up the project to acquire an atomic bomb and continues the deception and concealment. The regime uses all the facilities and concessions that the nuclear deal has given it to pursue terrorism, foreign warfare, and domestic repression.”

She also said that all nuclear sites should be closed and inspections should take place unannounced so as to prevent the ruling religious fascism regime from getting its hands on the atomic bomb.
