The government statistics for Covid-19 deaths stood on Thursday, May 28th at just 7,627. The regime refuses to believe any other figures except its own and has even arrested anyone who has come up with the most reliable figures. The Iranian resistance (PMOI/MEK Iran) has refused to accept the lies about fatalities and has been bold enough to release the truth without the fear of arrest. It has been doing this for more than 3 months now.
Tehran is home to 16 percent of the total population of 82 million people in Iran and a report prepared by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK Iran) based on verified and detailed accounts obtained from 17 small and large hospitals in Tehran has come up with more accurate figures of COVID-19 fatalities. Altogether, data collected from the 17 hospitals have revealed 4,504 so far in the last 3 months.

- In Tehran, the highest number of deaths took place in Yaftabad hospital in southern Tehran where at least 850 people have died.
- In Tehran’s Imam Hossein Hospital 779 people have died as a result of Covid-19.
- In western Tehran’s Khomeini Hospital, there have been 500 deaths from Covid-19.
- In Masih Daneshvari Hospital, 280 Covid-19 patients have died.
- In Shariati Hospital, 245 people have died from Covid-19.
- In Sina Hospital in Central Tehran, 140 people have died as a result of Covid-19.
- In Shohaday-e Gomnam (Unknown Martyrs) Hospital 291 people have died as a result of COVID-19.
- In Shohaday-e Tajrish Hospital 240 people have died as a result of Covid-19.
- In Modarres Hospital about 251 people have died due to Covid-19.
- In Varamin’s Mofattah Hospital about 184 people have died due to Covid-19.
- In Labbafi-Nejad Hospital about 220 people have died as a result of Covid-19.
- In Kashani Hospital there have been about 60 Covid-19 related deaths.
- In Amir Alam Hospital about 100 people have died as a result of Covid-19.
- In Zyaiyan Hospital 110 people have died as a result of Covid-19.
- In Madaen Hospital 74 have died as a result of Covid-19.
- In Sajjad Hospital, 95 have died as a result of Covid-19.
- In Taleqani Hospital, 85 have died as a result of Covid-19.
From these observations over the last 3 months, it shows 4,504 deaths in Tehran’s hospitals. This is a fatality rate far greater than the regime’s figures. Most of the doctors treating victims of COVID-19 believe that the true fatality rate is at least 10 times the numbers published by the regime.

Overall, the latest casualty figures up to May 30th indicate that at least 48,000 have died because of the pandemic in Iran. 10,000 of these have taken place in Tehran alone. The actual death rate of those infected with this deadly virus according to regime data works out to be just 5.3%, which is far lower than any other country. The MEK believes the death rate is somewhere between 12 and 14 percent of those infected.
