The first Chancellor of the University of Tehran following the 1979 revolution and a former Iranian political prisoner, Dr. Mohammad Maleki, has called on the young people of Iran to “rise up and protest” against the mullahs’ regime in Iran according to an article by the National Council of Resistance of Iran.

New wave of executions in Iran

A new wave of executions has been reported by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).  At least 10 people are said to have been hanged since the weekend.

Four journalists sentenced to 27 years in jail

On Tuesday, lawyer Mr. Mahmoud Alizadeh-Tabatabaee, told the state-run Tasnim news agency that four journalists have been handed a combined sentence of 27 years in jail.

Recent spate of strikes and protests in Iran

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has reported on the recent strikes and protests in Iran. At least six strikes and protests were held in Tehran, Bandar Abbas and cities in western Iran on Sunday 24th April. These protests and strikes were held against the repressive policies of the Iranian government and the “looting of workers’ salaries by officials of the mullahs’ regime”.

Execution rate in Iran is on the rise

In an interview with the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Dowlat Nowrouzi, the representative of the National Council of Resistance of Iran in the United Kingdom, expressed her concern about the rising execution rate in Iran which has continued to rise during Hassan Rouhani’s presidency.

EIFA urges dismissal of Iran regime’s agents in Iraqi government

The EIFA, the Brussels-based European Iraqi Freedom Association, has urged for action to be taken to get agents and proxies of the Iranian regime dismissed from Iraq’s government and military and security forces.

26 years since Iranian regime’s assassination of Kazem Rajavi

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) have published an article on their website marking the 26th anniversary of the death of Professor Kazem Rajavi.

Professor Rajavi was a renowned defender of human rights in Iran and was also the older brother of Massoud Rajavi. On Sunday 24th April it was 26 years since Professor Rajavi was assassinated by a terrorist hit squad of the mullahs’ regime. He was only 56 years old and held six doctorate degrees from the universities of Paris and Geneva in the fields of law, political science and sociology.

International action needed to put an end to Iranian regime’s presence in Syria

The EIFA (European Iraqi Freedom Association), on Saturday, issued a statement urging the international community to take immediate action in order to put an end to the Iranian regime’s military presence in Syria.

The full statement, which can be viewed in its entirety on the NCRI’s (National Council of Resistance of Iran) website, was issued by Struan Stevenson, President of the EIFA. He highlights the importance of Iran’s army being obliged to immediately withdraw from Syria.

Imprisoned Iran Labor Leader and Others Speak Out Against Deprioritizing Education

According to reports received from Iran, imprisoned teacher Mahmoud Beheshti Langaroudi, former secretary general and current speaker of Iran’s teachers’ union, issued a statement from Evin Prison (North of Tehran) saying that he started a hunger strike on April 20.
