Stop Fundamentalism – Hengameh Shahidi, an Iranian woman Journalist and a member of Etemad-Meli Party, headed by Iran’s former presidential candidate, Mehdi Karrubi, has started a hunger strike in the Iranian notorious Evin prison, Iranian news sources say.Iranian Journalist, Hengameh Shahidi

Shahidi who has been detained for the past four months, started her hunger strike after she was transferred to the public ward of the prison.  She intends to continue her strike until she is freed.

Shahidi has been subject to intense torture and abuse in prison since her arrest.

 

Shahidi who is a reputable journalist was arrested after the unrest erupted following June elections in Iran.

Hunger strike Ends as 36 Ashraf Residents go free

Stop Fundamentalism – National Council of Resistance of Iran announced today in a statement that 36 Ashraf residents, who had been taken in custody of the Iraqi forces on June 28 during an attack on the camp, have been returned to the camp.

Those released where on their seventieth day of hunger strike and Sixth day of dry hunger strike. As reported, some were unconscious when they were returned to camp Ashraf. 

A resident of Ashraf indicated that the prisoners were taken directly to the camp hospital for immediate medical attention.

Iran – Women Political Prisoner Moved to Evin Prison

Stop Fundamentalism – A woman political prisoner by the name of Shireen Alam-Houie, 28 stays in ward 209 of notorious Evin prison in Iran, reports Hrana News Agency.

 

Ward 209 in Evin is known to hold political prisoners.

 

According to reports Shireen, an Iranian political activist from Kurdistan, is charged with membership in a Kurdish party.  She has been in prison since May 2008 and has been denied to have access to proper defense.  It is feared that she is in danger of receiving the death penalty.

 

Iran Press news has reported that seven other political prisoners have received the death penalty in southern city of Ahwas.

Stop Fundamentalism, October 4, 2009- National Council of Resistance of Iran, in a statement today said that Iraqi police has once again move the thirty six Mojahedin members it has in its custody to a new undisclosed location.

Attack on Camp Ashraf Residents by Iraqi Forces on June 28The members had been arrested late July after an attack by the Iraqi forces on camp Asharf north of Baghdad, where the PMOI members reside. 11 residents of the camp were killed and over 500 wounded during the attack.  Videos of the raid showing Iraqi police using chains, axes, and bulldozers to attack the unarmed civilians of this camp were distributed on YouTube and outraged the international community.

This new system can transmit with 1 Gigahertz of power.

The device is Russian made and it is intended to be used in electronic warfare to distort radar receptions. 

Iranian regime is trying to prevent international and satellite programming to reach Iranians.

While having a satellite television is illegal in Iran, many Iranians prefer to watch foreign media rather than Iranian produced television programs.

The osolators embedded in this system will create noise with enough power to distort most satellite programming. 

The system transmits at such power that it is feared to be hazardous to human health.

Stop Fundamentalism – The Iranian state-run news agency, ISNA, reported today that the Revolutionary Guards Corps has acquired controlling shares of Iran’s main Communication body, Mokhaberat.

Iranian Protest on September 18This new move was announced by Ahmadinejad as he praised the smooth process and the way the transfer was handled.  He called it “The biggest transfer in history.”

Internet and mobile phones played a big role in helping demonstrator organize and communicate among each other during the recent uprisings in Iran that managed to draw world attention. Many started calling the protests, the “Twitter Revolution” as it helped the world be a witness to the unrest and in a way take part.

Stop Fundamentalism, 27 September – The National Council of Resistance of Iran, NCRI, released a statement today about 36 Mojahedin members who have been in captivity of the Iraqi forces for the past two month. 

June 28 Attack on Ashraf by Iraqi forcesNCRI explained that while an Iraqi judge for the third time has vindicated them from all charges and ordered their release, the Iraqi police still refuse to let them free.

The detainees were taken in custody by Iraqi police during a raid on an Iranian refugee camp on June 28 in which 11 members of the camp were killed and over 500 wounded.  Videos of the raid that show Iraqi police using chains, axes, and bulldozers to attack the unarmed civilians of this camp were distributed on YouTube and outraged the international community.

On today’s statement, the NCRI called on the US forces in Iraq to immediately take back the 36 Ashraf residents kept without any justification.
 
Amnesty international also release a statement today, calling on the Nuri Al-Maliki government to unconditionally release the detainees.

Stop Fundamentalism, Sept 27, 2009 – The Iranian regime is testing a new range of missiles during a two day drill named ‘The Great Profit”, Says the commander of the Revolutionary Guards Air Force.  “The maneuver has three phases, one that has begun on Sunday morning, September 27. The second phase will be Mullahs Watching Missile Launchat Sunday night and on Monday, the third phase will take place,” continued Salami.

 According to sources, the first phase will include the Fateh-110 short range missiles and also the marine ‘Thunder-69.  The surface-to-surface Zalzal series could also be part of the test.

7,000 Iranians staged a rally outside the United Nations in New York on Wednesday, to protest against the presence of the Iranian regime’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, at the United Nations. The participants declared their support for recent uprisings in Iran and the residents of Camp Ashraf in Iraq, home to members of Iran’s main opposition.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, told the rally through a video message that the West’s policy of appeasement was completely out of touch with the reality of today’s Iran.

Once again the world witnessed the Iranian peoples’ determination to achieve freedom.

Protest Continue in Tehran and Other Cities as wellToday, the last Friday of Ramadan, known as ‘Quds Day’ in Iran, a day historically associated with Iranian extremists.  For thirty years the ruling mullahs’ regime in Iran his used this day’s Friday cermone to campaign against Israel and justify the presence of its war and terror machine throughout the Middle East.

But this time in Tehran, Tabriz, Shiraz, Isfahan, and other cities, the Quds day events took a new turn.

Today, the Iranian people marched the streets chanting that neither Israel nor Palestine is their concern but what they care about is their own country, Iran and its freedom.

From the early hours this morning large crowds of people gathered in streets in many cities of Iran defying Basijies and Revolutionary Guards forces who tried to stop them from demonstrating.

Many clashes between the crowd and security forces have been reported and some demonstrators were arrested.
