Iran – Protesters and Police Clash in Tehran

Stop Fundamentalism – Iranian dissident media reports from Tehran indicate new occurrences of demonstrations and clashes between Iranian protesters and the police.  Demonstrators chanted “death to dictator” and set fire on trash bins and clashed with security forces.

In Narmak area about 7:30 pm, police had to fire teargas into the crowd gathered there to demonstrate.

Iran Human Rights Violations in January 2012

The Iranian regime announced publicly the executions of 45 people in the in January 2012.  That number included 16 public executions.

According to state-run media, the Iranian regime hanged a total of 11 people in various cities on January 4, 2012. Just Eleven days later, on January 15, twelve other prisoners were hanged.

Rajavi: Prevent Camp Liberty from Becoming a Prison

Stop Fundamentalism – President-elect Maryam Rajavi, of the National Council of Resistance of Iran called on the United States, the European Union, and the United Nations, today, to step in and prevent the Iranian and Iraqi governments from turning Camp Liberty in to a prison for Camp Ashraf residents.

Rajavi who was speaking at a conference held in the European Parliament in Brussels while sitting alongside of number of European and American personalities such as Howard Dean and Patrick Kennedy, stated that the residents of the camp are “still committed to the relocation to Liberty, only demanding minimum assurances namely  a dignified and humane treatment at the new location.”

No More Gulf Region Line-of-Credit for Iran

Stop Fundamentalism –Two main trading countries with Iran in the Gulf region, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar announced last week they will no longer issue a Line-of-Credit for trade with Iran.

The Central Banks of the two countries have called on national banks not to issue any more LCs for Iranian traders, say reports.

Iranian Operatives Captured in Syria Aiding Assad Forces

Stop Fundamentalism – A paramilitary group that belongs to the Syrian Free Army says it has captured a group of armed Iranians in the city of Homs.  The group uploaded a video clip of the men on Youtube showing they carry Iranian documents and speak Farsi.

IAEA Nuclear Experts to Visit Iran

Stop Fundamentalism – Iranian authorities will be given a chance to prove their nuclear development program has peaceful intentions. 

A team of experts from International Atomic Energy Agency will be visiting Iran 29-31 January to  “resolve all outstanding substantive issues,” says a statement released by the IAEA on 23 January.
