Iranian Regime Fails to Intimidate Rebellious Youth

“The role of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), in the recent events in the country was very significant. In a way that caused widespread destruction with management and influence in some cities.” (Mohammad Taghi Shahcheraghi, the commander of the Qom IRGC).

The Iranian regime continues to try and intimidate the very people who are suffering the most in Iran. On October 9th, the state-owned Mashregh daily attempted to explain why the leading faction in the regime has continued to stamp down on dissent. It is a veiled attack on the main Iranian opposition, the People’s Mojahedin of Iran /Mojahedin-e Khalk (PMOI / MEK Iran).

The article writer tries to justify the regime’s crack down on protesters and even the widely criticized execution of Navid Afkari. The argument the article presents is that there is no need to criticize the regime for its human rights record as every death sentence is justified in the eyes of the writer. Just let the judiciary do their job!

The article writer concludes that support for those on death row are simply trying to drum up another uprising similar to that of November 2019, which was originally sparked by an unprecedented rise in gasoline prices.

The November Uprisings were sparked by a sudden hike in petroleum prices. Prices were raised without warning, causing immediate outrage in cities across Iran. Within hours, tens of thousands of people were in the streets protesting and calling for the overthrow of the regime.

The government shut down the nation’s internet access almost immediately. (PMOI / MEK Iran) Resistance Units on the ground mobilized existing supporters to organize the ongoing protests, but the stage was set. The MEK strong presence inside Iran does not need a false pretext to get people into the streets. Resistance is a response to people’s anger and disenfranchisement.

Although the targets of the article seem to be attacking the reformist factions in the Iranian government like that of President Hassan Rouhani, or the green movement led by Mir-Hossein Mousavi, in fact, this is not the case.

These factions are in fact only another version of the faction led by Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and are supporters of the concept of  “vilayat-e faghih” (rule by the religious clerics). The article refers obscurely to the use of “social media” and the “Internet” and is clearly intended to mean the MEK and its influence on the Iranian MEK Resistance Units within Iran.

Iranian regime Supreme Court judge Ahmad Sajjadi discussed the (PMOI / MEK Iran) role in the 2019 Uprisings in an interview with state television on Thursday, June 4. Sajjadi revealed the regime’s fear of the (PMOI / MEK Iran) and their power to lead another uprising and suggested that the mullahs will follow in regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini’s footsteps in trying to eliminate the (PMOI / MEK Iran).

The Iranian regime is on the defensive, as one of its state-run media outlets issues warnings that Iran is about to explode into more uprisings similar to the November 2019 protests.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s (NCRI): The Iran uprising cannot be extinguished. The battle of Iranian people, MEK resistance units, and the great Liberation Army will march forward and end the ruling religious tyranny in Iran.

Five nationwide protest rallies since 2018 show explicitly that the Iranian people no longer want to be dominated by the current regime.
