Trump could be the game changer in favour of the Iranian people

Raymond Tanter, President of the American Committee on Human Rights, wrote an article about how Trump’s election is a game changer for Iran policy. He believes that the new president will be able to work in favour of the Iranian people. 

He said that there is a “war for Washington” between the Iranian regime and the main opposition – the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). Tanter believes that the NCRI will likely be received favourably by the White House as they hold the same opinions regarding the Iran deal as Trump. But this does not mean the Iran problem will be easy to solve.

How can the Trump administration deal with Iran?

Dr. Ivan Sascha Sheehan wrote a piece for the Independent Journal Review about the Trump administration and Iran. He highlighted that during the presidential campaign Trump did his best to conjure up doubt about the Iran nuclear deal. However, there were many who disputed that the deal was a “bad” deal as Trump said, yet in recent days it has been brought to the world’s attention that Iran has failed to comply with some of its obligations.

Davina Miller, a contributor to The Hill and former Head of Peace Studies at the University of Bradford in the UK, has written an article about the United States’ policy on Iran. She said that past presidents of the U.S. have treated Iran with defeatism, but hopefully this will change with Donald Trump who has already expressed his disproval of the Iran nuclear deal.

An opinion piece by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) writes about Congressman Mike Pompeo and a visit he made with Senator Tom Cotton to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna in the summer of 2015 over their concerns related to Iran’s outlawed nuclear activities.

The WSJ says the during that trip Rep. Pompeo and Senator Cotton learned of two secret codicils to the Iranian nuclear deal, that according to the WSJ article, the Obama Administration failed to disclose to Congress.

Iran’s senior officials to honour suicide bombers in ceremony

Samadi said that forms would be provided to attendees to volunteer for suicide operations, adding, “Until now, 40,000 people have signed up for martyrdom-seeking operations and three battalions of volunteers for these operations have been formed and the formation of more battalions will be announced in due course”.
