Iran – Number of executions in 2007 exceeds 250

Stop Fundamentalism, October 14 – The website of the [[National Council of Resistance of Iran]], www.ncr-iran.org reported recently that in the past ten months, in excess of 250 prisoners have been hanged by the Iranian regime. 

The report indicates that there are over 600 prisoners currently on death row in Iran, among them 71 juveniles.

Many international organizations, including [[Amnesty International]], have repeatedly condemned Iran for its dreadful record of human rights violations including a number of recent multiple public hangings which were filmed and televised by the state-run news media.

The NCRI, in its statement, expressed deep concern regarding the lives of over 60 political prisoners in Iran who are subject to continuous torture by [[Tehran]] rulers.

Iraqi Dinar exchange rate stabilized for Ramadan holidays

Iraqi Dinar PicturesStop Fundamentalism, October 14 – The Iraqi Central Bank has frozen Iraqi Dinar’s exchange rate selling at 1232 per Dollar until next Thursday, October 18, said a bank spokesman, Friday.

The Iraqi Dinar exchange rate has held almost steady for past weeks, rising about 5 Dinars per Dollar since mid September.

Iran Ambassador’s role as a Quds Force Commander in Iraq

The U.S. military commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus speaking at a U.S. military base about 30 kilometers from the Iranian border, acknowledged the role of Hassan Kazemi-Qomi, Iran’s Ambassador to Iraq, as a top Quds Force commander in this country’s vicious cycle of violence.

Iran’s Quds force is the source of Explosively Formed Projectiles (EFP) deadly roadside bombs that has killed hundreds of U.S. troops in Iraq." 

Kazemi-Qomi, a high ranking commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is specialized in Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq affaires. He has an infamous record of terrorist activities in each of those countries.

Quds Force Commander of Zafar Base, located in the Western city of Karmanshah, Brig. Gen. Mahmoud Farhadi was arrested by the U.S. forces in the Palace Hotel in Soleimanieh, Iraq on September 20.

Those familiar with the eight-year-long Iran-Iraq war would remember Farhadi as one of the commanders of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ramadan Base.

Ramadan is the main headquarters of the IRGC-Quds Force base with four tactical bases, the largest one Zafar in Karmanshah, Naser in the northwestern city of Naqadeh, Raad in the northwestern city of Marivan, and Fajr in the southwestern city of Ahwaz, along the 1,200 kilometers boarder with Iraq. Farhadi in his capacity as a commander of Quds Force, after the war, has been involved in some of more than 150 terrorist operations against the opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) in Iraq; many of which claimed heavy civilian causalities among the local residents. The commanders of Ramadan Base have also been responsible for assassination of many Iranian Kurdish leaders in exile on the other side of the boarder in Iraq’s Kurdistan.  

Iran Policy experts: A third sanction resolution is inevitable

A new classified report has just recently been prepared by the Iranian regime’s foreign policy experts for the Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei and Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) on the possibility of a new UN Security Council resolution on Iran.

There is every indication that the Five Permanent Members of the UN Security Council plus Germany favor a new tougher sanction regime against the mullahs. In their upcoming meeting in New York next week, the world powers will discuss the new resolution.

Documentary, could be a winner at the Emmy Awards

The 59th annual Emmy Awards will air Sunday September 16th at 8p.m. against a big-time NFL match between the Chargers and Patriots air on NBC.

As always, there are many speculations on who will win the awards.

The Former Vice President Al Gors’s documentary about global warming, “An Inconvenient Truth” that won an Oscar this year is considered as a possible Emmy winner.
