The people of Iran have been participating in one of the most significant uprisings in recent times in the country. Since Friday 15th November, the people have been bravely voicing their concerns and making the regime understand that they will not tolerate the regime’s corrupt and brutal rule any longer. There is no doubt that they want regime change.  

So far, there have been at least 450 protesters killed and thousands more injured. There have also been thousands of protesters arrested. Many of those killed by the suppressive forces and anti-riot police were shot at point-blank range or in the head or chest.

The British Committee for Iran Freedom (BCFIF) has released a statement declaring that it “strongly condemns” the Iranian regime’s crackdown on the nationwide uprising that began on November 15, after the mullahs tripled the price of fuel. 

In that same statement, the BCFIF also condemned the near-total internet shutdown that the Iranian authorities instituted for over a week in order to prevent information about the protests and the crackdown from reaching the outside world, which led to an increased crackdown by the paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and other security organs.

They have made it very clear that they will not be leaving the streets any time soon and anger is palpable. What began as a simple demonstration over a massive rise in the price of fuel, quickly morphed into an uprising demanding regime change and targeting Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, President Hassan Rouhani, and the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). 

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), a group that the Regime has long tried to portray as insignificant and unpopular among the Iranian people, has a leading role in these recent protests. Even the regime’s highest-ranking officials are forced to admit that their previous statements were lies and that the MEK enjoys nationwide support.

The tenth day of Iran Protests 2019 continued as Demonstrations and Clashes in Tehranpars (East Tehran), Isfahan, and Sirjan was reported through a network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

On Saturday, November 23, the MEK reported that more than 300 hundred protesters have been killed and 4000 are wounded. The MEK published on Saturday, November 23, the name of 99 martyrs. Thousands are arrested and the regime has turned Grade Schools into detention centers. The number of martyrs is much higher and the regime is trying to conceal the scale of its horrific crimes.
