Iran threatens US and allies in the Middle East

The Iranian Regime is posing a threat to US interests in the Middle East and the long-term security of the region, according to the head of US military’s Central Command.

On Tuesday, General Joseph Votel told the House Armed Services Committee: “Iran is generating instability across the region, and the Iranian Threat Network continues to increase in strength, enhancing its capacity to threaten US and partner nation interests.”

US allows high-tech exports to Iran to monitor nuclear programme

The Donald Trump administration has just approved the export of high-tech US exports to Iran, a move that could increase international oversight of the 2015 nuclear deal.
US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan signed a waiver to allow the Maryland-based company, Hughes Network Systems, to send broadband networks, satellite dishes and wireless equipment to Iran for use by stations that monitor nuclear explosions as they happen.
