7 hanged in Iran cities

Seven prisoners have been hanged in the Iranian cities Mashhad, Shiraz and Tehran. On Tuesday June 7 state-affiliated Rokna news agency reported the deaths of three men, aged 30, 35 and 40 whom were tried by the Revolutionary Court in Mashhad.

Propaganda clip released by Iranian regime to recruit Afghans to fight in Syria

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has published an article about the new promotional video clip the Iranian regime has issued in an attempt to recruit Afghan nationals to join the war in Syria in support of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

The six-minute clip has been made and broadcast by Ofogh TV, a state television channel. Fars news agency is another state media agency that has shown and distributed the clip.

Iran: Eleven million people lack access to basic amenities

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) have published an article on the poor living conditions of millions of Iranian people. The Iranian Interior Minister, Rahmani Fazli, on Monday 6th June said in parliament that there are 11 million people living in shanty towns, with 3 million of these living in the outskirts of Tehran, Mashhad and Ahwaz.

Iran: Lorestan’s telecom personnel protesting non-payment of late salaries

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) have reported that people from the telecommunications industry gathered in protest outside the governorate in the province of Lorestan (Western Iran) on Monday 6th June. These people were protesting non-payment of their deferred salaries and benefits. They were also protesting the non-implementation of a new job classification scheme.

Bahrain uncovers plans to smuggle convicts to Iran

In an article published on the Gulf News website, it has been reported that Bahrain’s interior ministry confirms that there was an attempt to smuggle eight fugitives out of the country. These fugitives have been convicted over terrorism cases to Iran.

The article states that the interior ministry “has intensified efforts to locate and recapture prisoners who broke out of jail on Friday evening”. The coast guard pursued a boat off the coast of northern Bahrain and those on board were ordered to stop.
