Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), called for urgent action to protect the residents of Camp Liberty following an attack Monday night which saw more than 50 rockets injure 40, set large areas ablaze, and leave craters seven feet wide and five feet deep.
Leading British parliamentarian and Joint Chair of the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom, Lord Carlile of Berriew, QC, has called on governments and major global institutions to persuade the Iranian regime, using sanctions if necessary, that they need to change.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) have reported that the political prisoners of Iran’s south-eastern city of Zahedan are supporting the “Free Iran” gathering in Paris. They issued a statement supporting this rally that is organised by members and supporters of the Iranian Resistance. The rally is due to be held on 9th July.
Many political prisoners from the notorious Evin prison and Gohardasht (Rajai-Shahr) prison have voiced their support for the “Free Iran” gathering in Paris. They encourage all Iranians to go and show their support. Every year the Iranian Resistance organises a large gathering in Paris and this year it will be held on 9th July.
Militias affiliated with the Iranian regime, fired more than 50 rockets at Camp Liberty tonight. Parts of the camp were set ablaze.
The camp houses members of the main Iranian opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK)
Slovak MEP, Ivan Stefanec, declared that he had joined with more than 270 Members of the European Parliament, from all groups and across all states, to demand a ‘clear improvement’ in human rights in Iran as a pre-condition for the Iranian regime’s expansion of relations with the European Union.
In addition to abusing the human rights of its own people, Iran’s regime stands accused of massacring the innocents in Syria, says Pál Csaky, a Member of the European Parliament.
Following reports of the staggering number of executions in Iran, a British MEP had described the notion that President Rouhani is in any way a moderate as ‘the worst kind of wishful thinking’.
Urging support of the Free Iran rally on July 9 in Paris, nearly 80 Church leaders, from the United Kingdom and the United States, declared, “Iran’s ruling theocracy is rightly a source of grave concern for human rights organizations and institutions with a particular interest in the protection of the rights of Christians.”
