Kurdish political prisoners in Iran are attacked by prison guards

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has reported that “Black-clad prison guards have raided a Kurdish political prisoners’ ward in Iran’s notorious Gohardasht (Rajai-Shahr) Prison”, situated in the city of Karaj, north-west of Tehran. They beat the inmates and searched through their personal property.

Iranian political prisoner refused treatment after suspected heart attack

Afshin Baymani, a sick political prisoner in the notorious Rajai-Shahr Prison (Gohardasht Prison) suffered from what seems to be a heart attack on Sunday, and has since been refused any kind of hospital treatment.

In a report by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), we are told that Mr. Baymani who is in his mid-forties suffers from a serious heart condition. He is currently held in Ward 4 of Hall 12 of Rajai-Shahr Prison in Karaj, north-west of Tehran.

A rebel onslaught on the Syrian town of Khan Touman near Aleppo last week delivered one of the biggest battlefield setbacks yet to the coalition of foreign Shi’ite fighters waging war on behalf of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Reuters reported on Friday.

Reports put the death toll among the Iranian, Afghani and Lebanese militiamen as high as 80 in the attack. At least 17 of the dead were Iranians, seemingly the highest toll in a battle outside the Islamic Republic’s borders since the Iran-Iraq war.
