Iran Is Protesting the Regime’s Crackdown of the Protesters

The Iranian Regime responded to the widespread protests across Iran with violence, slaughtering at least 50 in the streets and arresting 8,000, some of whom have died under torture in prison.

The security forces suppressed the anti-regime protests, which began in response to the December budget that slashed subsidies for the poor and raised funding for terrorism, with tear gas, batons and bullets.

At the end of December, the people of Iran took to the streets in protest against their living conditions.
Many of the people in Iran are living in dire poverty and the problem is made worse by the corruption within Iran’s leadership. The protests and anti-government demonstrations spread across the country very quickly and they soon turned into an uprising against the whole of the regime.

On Friday, January 19th a conference entitled, “Change in Iran with 1000 Ashrafs.” Featured speakers were the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, former Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich, and Senator Robert Torricelli. The conference was attended by representatives of the Iranian community in Europe.

The Interior Minister of Bahrain, Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah al-Khalifa, said on Sunday that the Iranian-backed Lebanese Hezbollah has been aiding and supporting terrorist groups across the whole region. He said that the terrorist organisation has also been involved in a minimum of 19 plots against public figures in the kingdom in the past year.
