Iran: Students protest against mullahs’ regime

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) reported that on 6th December, on the occasion of Student Day, students from various universities from all over Iran took to the streets to protest against the Iranian regime. Students chanted things such as “Students die, but do not accept humiliation” and “political prisoners must be freed”.

Iran: The United States is still an enemy

The Daily Mail in the UK has published an article about how Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani still sees the United States as the enemy, despite the lifting of sanctions. 

Rouhani, who is likely to run for a second term in May next year, has been criticised by conservatives for allowing too many concessions during the nuclear deal negotiations. However, in a speech on Tuesday to university students Rouhani said that supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been consulted and Rouhani had not made the decisions alone.

Iran: Intensification of cyberattacks

(NCRI) and (PMOI / MEK Iran): A prominent hacker organization linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has undertaken a covert operation.

Tim Johnson wrote an article about the recent spate of cyberattacks. He said that two government agencies in Saudi Arabia have had an unspecified number of their computers frozen with experts saying that Iran is probably behind the chaos. 

Johnson said: “The attacks are believed to have affected thousands of computers at the Saudi civil aviation and transportation agencies, harkening back to a devastating Iranian cyberattack in 2012 that nearly crippled the Saudi state oil company, Aramco.”

IRGC commanding war in Syria from Fort Behuth

The Security and Anti-Terrorism Commission of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has released a statement about the involvement of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) in Syria. It highlights that their presence in Syria and the transfer of weapons are both blatant violations of UNSC resolutions.

The main command centre and barracks of the IRGC is at “Fort Behuth” which is 30 kilometres away from Aleppo. This site is commanded by IRGC Brigadier General Seyed Javad Ghafari.

Unrest in Iranian parliament

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has reported that a board member of the regime’s Majlis (parliament), Akbar Ranjbar Zadeh, has threatened to recommence nuclear activities now that the United States is renewing sanctions against Iran.

Dual nationality Iranians jailed in Iran

Hadi Ghaemi, the executive director of the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran, has said that an American-Iranian man and his wife was arrested by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in July and have been held in the notorious Evin prison in Tehran. They have been detained without charge and do not have access to a lawyer.
