The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) have published an article about former U.S. governor and Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge’s opinion on Islamic extremism.
He said that the help of moderate Muslim groups, particularly dissidents in Iran, Iraq, Syria and elsewhere, is absolutely essential in fighting the war on Islamic extremism. These are the ones who are not only “natural enemies” of Islamic extremism, but they are also the most frequent victims.
The morality police in Iran are stepping up their efforts to punish women they believe are not veiled correctly.
The International Business Times reported that more and more “morality stations” have been set up since the beginning of April. Once woman has apparently had her car impounded because the morality police found her veil improper, or too loose.
The International Committee “In Search of Justice” published a new report (found here) regarding the recent elections in Iran.
The report highlights that the elections, held on 26th February 2016, were portrayed in a positive light in western media. It was seen as a time of hope and social progress and it was expected that an improvement in human rights would follow suit.
Harriet Sinclair has written an article for the International Business Times about the backlash Iran is facing because of the disturbingly high rate of juvenile executions. Although international charities and organisations have managed to raise awareness of the issue to a certain degree, it appears that disapproval inside Iran is increasing. Sinclair states that, according to recent Amnesty International reports, over 70 juveniles have been executed in the last ten years and the number of young people on death row is rising.
On 11th April, over 4,500 truck drivers continued with their assembly and strike in Bandar Abbas transportation terminal, southern Iran, for the sixth consecutive day. The previous day, officials of the Iranian regime arrested three protestors instead of listening to their requests.

On Monday the European Union extended sanctions against over eighty officials in the Iranian regime. This is due to her disclosure about all men being murdered in a village in Sistan and Baluchistan, a province in south-eastern Iran.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has reported that prosecutors in Germany have filed espionage charges against two Iranians. They are accused of spying on exiled opposition members on behalf of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
The German prosecutors announced that the indictment against “31-year-old Maysam P. and 33-year-old Saied R.” has been filed at a court in Berlin. (Their full names were not revealed due to German privacy laws.) These two men are said to have once been members of the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI /MEK), the leading opposition group.
