Anti government demonstrators in Iraq have been repeating the same slogans across the country in the past six months: “Maliki is a lier”, “Maliki; out” and “Iran; out out”. These could clearly be heard on Aljazeera TV on Friday reporting live from Al-Tahrir Square of Baghdad. Some five thousand angry young demonstrators in the square, out of tens of thousands of others who were prevented from reaching the site by security forces deployed at dozens of check points around the area, vowed to continue with their protest until Maliki is gone.

This is a strong signal to the Iraqi government and its backers in Tehran in light of recent developments in Libya and Syria.

Secretary Clinton – Removing MEK FTO Tag Would Serve a Strong Blow to Terrorism

Hamid Arbab

Following the 9/11, New York Twin Tower bombing tragedy, the Iranian regime was named by then President of United States as part of “axis of Evil”. The sponsorship of terrorism by the Iranian regime is well known to the entire world. It’s public support for such groups as Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Palestine and its covert support for Al-Qaida and Taliban is no secret.

The world still has not forgotten the tragic hijacking of an airplane in 1985 in Lebanon resulting in death of American nationals.  The deadly suicide attack to US Marine barricades in Beirut in 1983 killing 241 US servicemen, deadly Khobar towers attack in Saudi Arabia killing 19 US soldiers, attacks to US and French embassies in Kuwait in 1983 and finally the assassination of Rafique Hariri, the prime minister of Lebanon in 2005, are only examples of Iranian regime’s continuous support for terrorism worldwide.

Iranian Media: How to Tell a Lie – A Big Lie?

The presence of a crowd of thousands of Iranian exiles in front of the State Department in Washington, calling on the Secretary of State Clinton to remove the main Iranian opposition movement, Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK), from the U.S. terror list, has certainly drawn considerable media attention during the past few days.  But one article, coming from a peculiar Iranian daily can be considered as a satire piece rather than a news article.

The Iranian daily, Keyhan reported on 29 August that only 25 showed up at the said demonstration siding with those in Washington who say MEK has no popular support!
