The main opposition to the Iranian regime, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), has reported that more than 50,300 people have died after contracting COVID-19 across the country. Every single province has been affected and 327 cities have been struggling with the virus.
It is with great sadness that the people of Iran heard about the passing of Marjan – a well-loved Iranian artist and singer. She died on the evening of Friday 5th June from complications after a surgical operation. The cause of death has been noted as heart failure.
Dr. Hossein Rafiei, when interviewed by Mostaghel, a state-run daily, openly admitted that the truth about the Iranian regime’s approach to COVID-19 was never fully revealed. It doesn’t take much to see that world attention has been focused on Iran because of the high death toll from the virus.
One of the key questions surrounding Iran’s contemporary history today is when exactly did it start? It seems over the last decade people have attempted to alter the real history of a nations’ people undermining the amount they have sacrificed to achieve freedom, peace, equality, development, and independence.
On the anniversary of Ruhollah Khomenei’s death, Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader, dared to praise Khomeini’s legacy of oppression of the Iranian people. He even described Khomeini as “young-minded,” who allocated key posts like the commander of the Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) and important judicial jobs to young Iranians.
The Iranian mullahs’ regime has given up on its silence about Iran’s main opposition organization, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK Iran), and is now launching verbal attacks as the influence of the (PMOI / MEK Iran) becomes stronger, especially amongst Iran’s youth.
According to observations made by medical professionals, whatever the Iranian regime is saying about having complete control of the COVID-19 outbreak is simply untrue. It used this propaganda as an excuse to reopen the economy and get workers back to work. This was way back on April 11th. Warnings were issued at the time that there would be further cases of COVID-19 if the regime ordered the economy back to normal.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran’s United States Representative Office (NCRI-US) recently held a virtual conference. This was attended by well known U.S. politicians and the title of the event was “The Growing Threat from Iran’s Regime.”
Prisoners in Iran are getting infected by the coronavirus with little or no help from the regime. Urmia central prison has now become a Covid-19 hotspot, with many of its inmates experiencing typical symptoms of the disease, including a dry cough, fever, shortness of breath, and an inability to smell or taste anything.
In years gone by, the Iranian regime would try to convince the people and the international community that everything is under control and that the crises it is experiencing are being managed. However, it is becoming more and more difficult for officials to keep up with these types of narrative because the situation of the regime is clear to see to all.
