From December 27, 2019, to January 1, 2020, Iraq became a field of competition between the Iranian regime’s proxies and the United States forces. The competition was triggered by Kata’ib Hezbollah’s missile attacks on Base of Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) that caused the death of one U.S. civilian contractor and wounded several Americans and Iraqis.

Eyewitness Reports of Iran’s Protests

According to Iran’s main opposition movement, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK), at least 1,500 people were killed by the regime’s security forces.
More than 4,000 others were wounded and at least 12,000 protesters were arrested in Iran Protests, according to the MEK.

Thursday, January 2, 2020, marks the 49th day since the beginning of Iran’s nationwide protests back in November 2019.

The protests began on Friday, November 15th, when thousands of Iranians took to the streets in response to the regime’s announcement of a 300 percent gasoline price hike. Security forces opened fire on protesters to avoid the mullahs’ immediate downfall.

Who is Qassem Soleimani?

The Qods Force is created for extra-territorial terrorist operations and Qassem Soleimani is the head of this terrorist organization.
Suleimani participated actively in the crackdown on Iranian Kurdish people in the 1980s but also in the massacre of members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin-e-Khalq or MEK) during the Iran-Iraq war.

The Iranian Resistance announced on December 15, 2019 that the number of protesters killed on the direct order of regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei exceeded 1,500. Prior to that, it had announced 4,000 had been wounded and 12,000 arrested.
