Iran’s disastrous role in Syria

With the seven-year-long conflict in Syria showing no sign of ending, it seems like the Iranian Regime should start re-thinking their involvement in a war that has cost them so much.

The Iranian Regime has lost many soldiers during its support of Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, over 2,000 according to official estimates, but it is worth noting that the Iranian Regime has been downplaying this number in order to keep morale high among the troops.

UN Human Rights Council denounces Iran for abuses

The United Nations Human Rights Council has called on the Iranian Regime to respect human rights, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
On Monday, the chair of the Special Procedures Committee at the UNHRC, said that the Iranian Regime must stop retaliating against the Iranian people who are cooperating with international human rights mechanisms and must allow the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran to enter the country to carry out their mandate.

According to Lebanese Interior Minister, Iran is to Blame for Crisis in Arab World

At the 35th Arab Interior Minister Council that was held in Algeria on March 9th, Lebanese Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq said that Iran’s expansion in the region “is one of the reasons for the security and political crisis in the Arab world.” He added, “Lebanon is a Lebanese responsibility, but it has been an Arab responsibility for several years and their first line of defense.”

Meanwhile, in Iran, women continue to be barred from watching matches in stadiums, and if they attempt to, are detained by police. Still, Iranian women are enthusiastic soccer and volleyball fans.

In Iran, Nowruz — the New Year — is marked by the Spring equinox, which falls on March 20th, this year. Before the Iranian people can welcome in the New Year, though, they must bid farewell to Winter by observing the national day of Charshanbeh Soori as it is called in Farsi, the language of Iran. This annual celebration, held on the last Tuesday of the year, is called the Fire Festival in English, and has been commemorated by Iranians for thousands of years.
