After nearly seven years of war, Syria has been torn apart. Aleppo, Homs and Hama, the country’s large cities, were targeted and efforts were made to change the demographic composition of Damascus and surrounding areas in order to facilitate the domestication of the capital.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside Iran report that while the Iranian regime claims that the turn of the year protests have ended, in truth, several protests are ongoing, especially by Iranian workers who continue to protest many issues, including non-payment of salaries. These protests cut across lines from agricultural workers, to mine employees, to retirees.

The US has threatened to take solo action against Iran for failing to prevent Iranian-made weapons from being used by Yemen’s Houthi militia, after Russia vetoed action in the United Nations Security Council.
US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley told reporters on Monday: If Russia is going to continue to cover for Iran then the US and our partners need to take action on our own. If we’re not going to get action on the council then we have to take our own actions.”

The UN Security Council that demanded a 20-day truce in Syria, after a wave of airstrikes, quickly adopted a resolution and shelling raised the death toll of a week of bombing in the area to 500, including women and children.

In the southwestern province of Khuzestan, Iranian workers have gone on strike to protest their labor conditions at a steel-making company in Ahvaz. At the Haft Tapeh sugar cane plantation in Shush, workers are also striking. As well, workers for the Tehran Metro rapid transit system are on strike.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), considered to be the Iranian regime’s largest opposition group, recently published a report entitled, “Iran: Cyber Repression”. The NCRI’s research reveals that there are hundreds of smartphone apps that the Iranian regime is currently using to spy on its own citizens. Shockingly, many of these apps are available at Apple’s App Store, Google Play and GitHub.com, making users around the world vulnerable.
