First Sham Debate in Iran’s Sham Elections

The first of three debates in the Iranian presidential election campaign has been televised. The debate was “hopeless” and “boring” according to the television viewers who watched it.

The candidates participating in the debate are all current government officials and they made an effort to only speak about economic issues rather than political problems in the country.

Iran Nuclear Deal: The Two Choices

It was announced by the US last month that Iran is technically adhering to the terms of the 2015 nuclear deal. Every 90 days, the US must carry out a review and certify that the terms are being respected. This was the first one carried out by the Trump administration.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson announced that although Iran is complying, there is a long list of actions that need to be addressed.

Iran’s Lies Are Fuelling the Syrian War

For years and years, Syrian allies – mainly Iran and Russia – have made excuses to keep Bashar al Assad in power and have used many tactics to shrug off the political pressure on them.

Allies would say that they were going to let Assad go as the President of Syria so that fighting could come to an end. But then they would say that they are waiting for his presidential term to be over so that the constitution is respected. But then, as everyone was patiently waiting, the 2014 elections happened and, surprise surprise, Assad was re-elected. Somehow.

Victims of Iran Terrorist Attacks Are Compensated

Economic sanctions have been used as a way to bend the will of rogue governments. Sometimes they are effective and sometimes they are not.

However, one good thing to have come out of certain sanctions imposed on Iran is that a number of American families are receiving payments for being a victim of what has been considered by the US as a state-sponsored act of terrorism. The victims are those that have been injured, or the families of those killed, by acts of terrorism perpetrated by Iran.

Iran: Executions Continue in Iran

For decades, prisoners in Iran have been under great threat of being mistreated by the agents of the Iranian regime. Execution is a form of punishment that is accepted and favoured by the Iranian authorities and is often used as a way of suppressing the people.

To intimidate the public, the authorities will often carry out hangings in public where several prisoners are executed together. Children and families are exposed to such scenes.
