Last month the US put Iran “on notice” after it test-fired ballistic missiles. Two months later more sanctions were placed on 25 entities and individuals that are involved in the country’s weapons procurement. Iran, in a bold response this week, conducted another missile test in complete defiance of warnings from the US.

The Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei tried to deflect from the evident concern among the leaders of Iran and said: “No enemy can paralyze the Iranian nation. [Trump] says ‘you should be afraid of me.’ No!”

The new US President and his administration have made no secret about its opinions of Iran’s clerical regime and the Iran nuclear deal that was signed during President Obama’s time in office. 

James Mattis, the US Secretary of Defense, said that Iran spreads and sponsors terrorism across the region and further and the White House declared that military action is still on the table when it comes to confronting Iran’s aggressiveness.

Although some have criticised the new US President for not being tough enough on Iran, it must be pointed out that there has been significant progress from the last administration. Next Round of Talks to Put End to Syrian War

Several new rounds of talks are due to take place in Geneva and Astana as the Syrian civil war approaches the end of its sixth year. 

Last month, talks were held in Astana between Turkey, Russia, Iran and Syria. The upcoming talks are expected to build on what has already been discussed. The foreign ministry of Kazakhstan said that US officials and the UN envoy Staffan de Mistura have been invited to attend. Talks will begin tomorrow.

Iran Murdered Tens of Thousands of Political Prisoners Without Trial

A professor of political science at the University of Tehran, Sadeq Zibakalam, confirmed that the Iranian regime was responsible for the execution of thousands of members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) during the decade after the 1979 revolution. 

Zibakalam is a close confidant of the former head of Iran’s Expediency Council, Ali Akbar Hashem Rafsanjani.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Hosts Terrorist Training Camp

The Iranian Regime and its core terror squad, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), have at least 14 terrorist training camps across Iran, with eight in the capital, Tehran.
