Footage shows a large crowd gathering at the local cemeteries in Mahabad to attend the funeral of the late Esmail [Simko] Maloudi. Mr. Moloudi, 35, was shot dead by authorities last night for taking part in anti-regime protests.

Although many observers believe the protests have turned into a revolution, authorities continue to insist that everything is “normal” and “under control.”
The nationwide uprising in Iran that was sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini is now on its 38th day. The 22-year-old woman from the city of Saqqez in the Kurdistan Province was brutally assaulted by the morality police, and on September 16 she passed away from her wounds in a hospital in Tehran.
Citizens in northern Tehran reported a fire in the Evin Prison at 8:10 p.m. local time on October 15. The slogans “Death to Khamenei” and “Death to the dictator” could be heard in the area at the same time. Following the event, hundreds of citizens marched to the prison, with social media videos showing heavy traffic on the Yadegar expressway. Authorities dispatched dozens of anti-riot forces in response to the prison unrest. Despite the repressive measures, dozens of citizens were able to get close to the prison.
