U.S. Special Representative for Iran and Senior Policy Advisor to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Thursday, December 5, “As the truth is trickling out of Iran, it appears the regime could have murdered over a thousand citizens including at least a dozen children.” Speaking at a press conference at the US State Department, Brian Hook said, “At least 7,000 protesters have been detained in prison but we cannot be certain because the regime blocks information.”

According to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) network inside Iran, numbers of martyrs in the protests that spread to 189 cities exceeds 1,000. The numbers of victims identified so far stand 320 and the MEK released 19 more names on Thursday, December 5, 2019.

The people of Iran have been protesting for twenty-first days. It all started on Friday 15th November after the regime announced a major increase in petrol prices. Simple protests about economic concerns have turned into a very significant uprising and the people are making their demands for regime change known.

It’s important to mention that the IRGC is sending troops to Syria in several ways. One of the ways is organizing pilgrimage trips to Syria or the relocation of its Quds Force in the country.
