Iran: Clerical regime’s options range from bad to worse

by Staff writer, SF
The 2015 Iran nuclear deal is on shaky ground. Its fate is unknown and there are some indications that there may be a new European deal. Or perhaps Iran will sign an FATF bill.
The FATF bill is causing heated rows and debates in Iranian parliament and the two factions cannot agree on the way forward. President Hassan Rouhani and the speaker of the parliament, Ali Larijani, are both very keen to get the bill signed.

by Staff writer, SF

Iran’s economic, diplomatic and political ties with the European Union are repeatedly highlighted by its leaders and media outlets. The narrative they pose is one where the EU is left with no option other than backing Iran politically, so European nations will continued to advocate to preserve the Iran nuclear deal and will continue to provide sanctions reliefs to the Islamic Republic.

Regime in Tehran sows the seeds of the country’s decline, with disregard of Iran’s Water Crisis

Iran put under more pressure

by Saeed
The situation in the Middle East is evolving rapidly, just weeks after US President Donald Trump announced that he would be pulling the United States out of the 2015 nuclear deal.
Iran has heavily depended on the nuclear deal, not least as a way of funding its adventures in the region. The sanctions that were lifted when the agreement was put in place have provided Iran with billions of dollars. The Iranian regime has been able to provide extensive funding to its militias and proxy groups and for its terrorist activities.

By HANS RÜHLE MAY 27, 2018
On May 8, President Donald Trump declared that the United States was withdrawing from the nuclear accord with Iran. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), signed by Iran, the US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany on July 14, 2015, was meant to freeze Iran’s ability to produce fissile material for 10 to 15 years in exchange for the lifting of all sanctions and United Nations arms embargoes imposed on Iran.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s recent speech regarding Washington’s policy toward the Iranian regime may be historical in that it appears to be a major turn-around.
The West’s Iran policy went against the interests of the Iranian people, and the nations of the Middle East. People have suffered from this regime’s export of terrorism.
Additionally, this strikes a blow to the Iranian regime’s influence in other countries such as Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Palestinian movement, and Afghanistan where Tehran is said to support the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

Iran lobby is getting desperate in its attacks on Pompeo

by Armin Baldwin
The new US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently laid out the Trump administration’s new Iran policy, including 12 steps that the mullahs would have to follow in order to get a new deal from the US
The most important of these steps are fairly obvious: stop enriching all uranium and stop supporting militant groups (i.e. Hezbollah, Hamas). These are so important that it’s hard to believe that they weren’t included in the 2015 nuclear deal, but that is one of the reasons that Donald Trump gave for his withdrawal.
