Last week, US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley made it clear that President Trump is not happy at all with the Iran nuclear deal. And with good reason – it is a deal that fails to address numerous very serious issues including severe human rights abuses, Iran’s spread of terrorism, Iran’s belligerence across the region, to name just a few.

There are two severe nuclear threats at the minute – one coming from North Korea and the other coming from Iran. What makes the threats even worse is that there is cooperation and a sharing of knowledge between the two nations – not just with regards to the nuclear aspect, but also in the military sphere.

Child marriage is a significant problem in Iran where girls as young as 10 are being forced into marriage. According to the Sharia-based law of Iran, the legal age for marriage is 13 for girls and 15 for boys. However, the father or legal guardian can give consent for them to marry at a younger age, and so can a judge.

Afghan Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Mohammed Sharif Yaftali told BBC News that Iran is providing military equipment and other support to the Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan. However, the Afghan Ministry of Defense quickly disclaimed Yaftali’s comments. His superiors issued a statement saying he was “misquoted.”

Avigdor Lieberman, Israeli Minister of Army, said on Thursday that Israel “is determined to prevent enemies from crossing the red lines.” This statement came after allegation by the Syrian army that Israeli air strikes targeted a military post near Masyaf in the Hama province on Thursday morning, killing two of its troops, and amid questions about Moscow’s position, as it owns S-400 missiles located only 80 kilometers from the site.
