Weakening Russia’s Support for Iran Is One of Trump’s Goals

The mixed legacy of the Obama administration in the Middle East leaves U.S. policy uncertain. To take a different direction means taking a departure from our current course, and President Donald Trump wants to just that, in a bid to encourage Russia to weaken its support for Iran, and upend the balance of power away from our Arab allies. Although approach may prove risky, “the United States now has few options, and may be forced to choose quickly among the least bad,” according to the Orange County Board.

How the United States can evict Iran from Syria with the help of Russia

Will President Trump and his administration be able to get Russia to back off from Iran? The two countries have been close since sanctions were lifted for Iran in 2015. Russia and Iran have worked together in Syria – Iran has provided manpower to conquer areas in Syria and Russia has backed it up with airstrikes.

Petraeus: US Military Needs to Be Ready for Action Against Iran

General David Petraeus, the former CIA director, said at the Institute for National Security Studies conference that the United States needs to be prepared to take action against Iran.

He also said at the conference on Tuesday in Tel Aviv that Trump is having a positive bearing on security in Europe. Petraeus, speaking to Maj. Gen. (res.) Amos Yadlin – head of the Institute for National Security Studies – said: “Following his declarations, the Europeans, for the first time, want to invest more in security. His conduct may have good ramifications. I think he is very pragmatic, and now he has to back up the slogans with policies.”

Gulf Arab States Hope Trump Will Be True to His Word Regarding Iran

The Gulf Arab states are discreetly celebrating the arrival of Donald Trump to the White House. Despite his unpolished speeches and rough behaviour, Trump has been openly opposed to their enemy – Iran. 

They believe that Trump will act firmly with regards to Iran and are optimistic that he will follow his promises up with actions.

Iranian Regime Recruits and Trains Young Children to Fight

The Iranian regime is in the midst of a new recruitment campaign via the Basij force – one of its paramilitary militia groups. Video clips are shown on state media. Children as young as eight years old are encouraged to see the US and Israel as enemies. They are taught to oppose Western values too. 

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has translated one of the promotional clips. The title is “Martyrs who defend the sacred shrine”.

Iran: Huge figures for illegal imports are increasing

Domestic production in Iran is falling because governmental organisations are importing a huge number of products from abroad. This has caused many businesses to go out of business in Iran and of course many people have lost their jobs as a result. 

Experts believe that 100,000 jobs have been lost and goods worth over one billion dollars have been imported into the country. They call it institutionalised smuggling.
