Members of the European Parliament have called upon the European Union and its member states to act to expel the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from Iraq.The Quds Force of the IRGC “regularly plans and executes terrorist plots against the civilian population,” according to the statement from Strasburg. 

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has quoted Bulgarian Member of the European Parliament, Svetoslav Malinov, as saying that many MEPs are “’indignant” with regards to the Iranian regime’s support for Syrian dictator Assad. The Iranian regime, he said, has “played a very destructive role in the region”.

The National council of resistance of Iran (NCRI) has published an article which includes a video message from Jim Nicholson, a Member of the European Parliament from Northern Ireland, voicing his support for the Iranian Resistance.

Lord Clarke of Hampstead, a long-time member of the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom, said that the Rouhani regime is “a disgrace in the civilized world.”

With colleagues from parliaments in the US and Europe, Canadian Senator, David Smith, said he would be at the Free Iran mass rally in Paris on July 9, as he has in previous years, to demand “genuine elections and basic human rights” for the people of Iran.

Polish MEP, Jaroslaw Walesa, speaking on behalf of the ‘Friends of Free Iran‘ in the European Parliament, said  that it was “most important” that Europe support the Iranian opposition in its struggle against the regime in Tehran.

Petri Sarvamaa, a Member of the European Parliament from Finland, has reiterated his support for a free Iran as momentum gathers behind the mass rally on July 9 in Paris of supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK), together with decision-makers and civic leaders from across the globe.

Patrizia Toia, a Member of the European Parliament from Italy, declared that she wanted to “encourage everyone to join the event in Paris of 9th of July.” The event, a mass rally for a Free Iran, will be attended by tens of thousands of supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK).
