Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to the United Nations General Assembly has raised major concerns and increased divisions among the mullahs’, not just over whether or not to restart negotiations over its nuclear programme with the US, but also because of the success of the anti-regime protests by supporters of the Iranian Resistance in New York. (The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, or PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK, held major “No to Rouhani” rallies outside the UN to protest Rouhani’s presence in New York and demand that the Regime be expelled from the UN.)

Last week, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was in New York with his delegation for the United Nations General Assembly. His visit there came with much controversy, and Iranian Americans and supporters of the main opposition to the Iranian regime, People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK), demonstrated outside the building. Many asked why the representative of a murderous, criminal, brutal and terrorist regime should be given a seat at the assembly.

The Iranian Regime hanged an unidentified woman in Gohardasht (Rajaii Shahr) Prison in Karaj on Wednesday, September 25, alongside seven male prisoners.

An eyewitness said she had been taken to be hanged at Gohardasht Prison from either Shahr-e Ray (Qarchak) or Kachouii Prison.

On Thursday morning, September 26, 2019, Iranian authorities executed Leila Zarafshan. Leila Zarafshan, the 95th woman executed in Iran during Rouhani’s term in office since 2013, was in prison for five years on charges of murder.

Iran is the only country that executes juveniles and holds the highest number of female executions in the world.

As Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani attended the annual gathering of world leaders in New York, the violation of human rights in Iran continued.
On Thursday, September 26, 2019, three prisoners were executed in Oroumiyah prison. According to Hrana News Agency, Thursday, 26 September 2019, Radif Azadi Khah, Shahabedin Mohamadpour from Oroumiyeh and Ebrahim Ahmadipour from Mahabad, who were prisoners of section 15 of Oroumiyah prison were executed.

The prisoners were sentenced on drug charges. However, the Iranian regime often uses drug charges to justify executions.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said Sunday that Iranian officials have assured him that women will be able to attend the World Cup qualifier in Tehran in October

Infantino said: “We have been assured, that as of the next international game of Iran, women will be allowed to enter football stadiums… This is something very important, it is 40 years that this has not happened, with a couple of exceptions, but it is important to move to the next level and to the next stage.”
