On Monday, an Iranian woman set herself in fire in front of one of the sections of Tehran’s judiciary. The victim had gone to court to pursue her case regarding “hijab” and this was done after her case was not considered, said an official of Tehran judiciary, according to Hrana News Agency. She was hospitalized after the incident and is currently under medical care.

Atefeh Rangriz, an Iranian researcher that was arrested during the mass protests in Tehran on 1st May this year, has been handed an 11 year prison sentence and 74 lashes.
Reports on social media indicate that Rangriz’s lawyer was informed of the sentence that was issued by Judge Mohammad Mogheiseh, a notorious judge that serves on bench 28 of the country’s Revolutionary Court.

The Iranian regime is afraid of the trial of its Vienna-based diplomat, Assadollah Assadi, arrested by German police in June 2018 in connection with a terrorist plot against the “Free Iran Gathering,” the annual meeting of the Iranian Opposition (PMOI/MEK) in Paris, the Saudi daily Alwatan reported on August 30, 2019. Iran has failed to launch a satellite for the third time this year, according to satellite images taken Thursday.
The images, taken by the WorldView-2 satellite, appear to show that a rocket exploded at the Imam Khomeini Space Centre, in Iran’s Semnan province, which was recently preparing for a satellite launch.

The Iranian Regime will launch a new plan this weekend to increase the suppression of women for improper veiling.
The plan, called Nazer (Observer) 2, which was announced by Ayyoub Soleimani, the acting commander of Police, will put maximum pressure on women by placing police in public places, major stores, and beaches, to give warnings to women who are considered improperly veiled according to the regime’s sexist laws.

According to Iran Human Rights Monitor website sources, on Wednesday September 5, a group of eight prisoners were hanged in Rajai Shahr Prison.
Charged with murder, the victims were identified as Reza Ghasemi, Zolalzadeh, Amir Amindokht, Seyed Mahmood Hosseini, Mehdi Tajik, Akbar Salimi, Kazem Ibrahimkhani and Shahab Taghizadeh. A source told IHR that Tuesday morning their families were called for a last meeting with the prisoners.

The death from suicide of a mother of four and the attempted self-immolation of a teenage girl in just one week have increased attention on the misogynist marriage laws in Iran.
Ziba, 16, set herself on fire in order to avoid a forced marriage to a much older man at the wishes of her family. A report by the state-run Khorasan daily newspaper on August 26 said that the girl, whose last name is not mentioned, was being forced into this marriage by her stepmother.
