A member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts said on July 31 on Iran’s Ofogh TV Channel that in order for the Hidden Imam to appear, Muslims must engage in “widespread conflict” with the West.

Mohammad Mehdi Mirbagheri, who is on the Assembly of Experts, a governmental body comprising of Islamic jurists, said: “In order for the Hidden Imam to appear, we must engage in widespread conflict with the West. This conflict is not just a military conflict, but it is [also] a political, cultural, and economic one. If we had to go to a military war in defence of our beliefs, it would be completely moral.”

Last month, the Iranian regime’s notorious Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) seized the Stena Impero – a British-flagged tanker – while it was sailing through the Gulf. The British authorities condemned the act and demanded that Iran immediately reverse its actions as well as releasing the crew members that were onboard at the time of seizure.

The Nigerian government has banned a Shiite organisation that is funded by Iran. The group, named the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), is promoting the idea of Nigeria becoming a republic state like Iran. The Nigerian government has also designated it as a terrorist organisation. There are fears that the military-trained leaders may participate in launching an insurgency.
