The US Special Representative to International Negotiations censured the Hamas terrorist organization and its sponsor Iran on Sunday via Twitter.
Jason Greenblatt tweeted that the tens of millions of dollars that the Iranian Regime gives to Hamas is squandered on weapons, when the best use of the money would be to improve the lives of the citizens of Gaza.

According to Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi, Tehran’s Prosecutor, 150 of the protesters arrested during the recent unrest have been indicted.
He added that four protesters are still in custody. However, he told journalists last week that 10 protesters were in custody. No independent source has corroborated or ruled out the figures released by Dolatabadi.

On Saturday, Iranian refugees gathered together in an act of solidarity in the Kurdistan Region’s capital of Erbil, outside the UNHCR headquarters.

The UN was urged to address the mass arrests and the killings alleged to be taking place in jails following the recent uprising in Iran, in one of the first of its kind hearings in Geneva, on February 1st, 2018. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights also heard appeals from international civil society and NGOs to establish a commission of inquiry to investigate the months-long massacre during which the Islamic Republic of Iran executed an estimated 30,000 political prisoners, mostly activists of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in 1988.

Last June, tensions between Qatar and the Gulf states came to a head because of its relationship with Iran. The Gulf States including Saudi Arabia imposed a boycott of Qatar resulting in sea, land and air routes being cut off. Qatar refused to bow to pressure from its Gulf neighbours, instead fully restoring diplomatic relations with Iran.
