Barry Rosen: Next U.S. President Must Take Hard Line Against Iran

It has been 37 years since the U.S. embassy takeover in Tehran. Barry Rosen, an advisory board member of United Against Nuclear Iran and Iran Hostage Crisis survivor Barry Rosen, said in a TIME magazine op-ed, that nothing has changed in almost four decades since he was imprisoned and tortured. 

The Iranian regime commemorates the U.S. embassy takeover every year by holding anti-American rallies. During demonstrations, the American flag was burned and the crowd shouted “Death to America” and “Death to Israel”.

Iran: Education International Calls for Protest Against Sentence of Teacher Unionist

Following the arrest and six year jail sentence handed to Mr. Esmail Abdi, a leader of the Tehran Teacher Trade Association, Education International (EI) has called on its members to protest against the decision. Mr Abdi was sentenced on 7th October by Branch 36 of the Appeal Court of Tehran.

Education International has asked all member associations and individual affiliates to use the LabourStart appeal to challenge the authorities.

Iran: Former Political Deputy of Interior Ministry Talks About Regime’s Role in Syria

On November 3, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) published an article about Islamic Iran Participation Front member, Mostafa Tajzadeh.

Reportedly, Tajzadeh acknowledged the failure of the regime with it’s involvement in the war in Syria.  He said, ”Iran’s regime with the help of Assad’s army intended to fight with other Syrian people and it was the beginning of a disaster.”

Iranian death toll increases in Syria

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has reported that the death toll among the commanders of the regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, the main apparatus of suppression and terrorism (IRGC), is rising rapidly. 

According to the Turkish Anatolia News Agency, as of 1st November 2016, 15 Iranian military seniors have died in the Syrian civil war. “These were the commanders and militias of the IRGC who have been fighting in Syria since 2013.”

Iran: Amnesty International calls on Iranian authorities to immediately release prisoner of conscience

Amnesty International has made a call for immediate action regarding the imprisonment of Maryam Akbari Monfared, a prisoner of conscience who is serving a 15-year sentence at Tehran’s notorious Evin prison. She is currently facing reprisals after she filed an official complaint seeking justice for the victims of the 1988 massacre.

Iran: The regime’s inability to deal with unemployment

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani recently said that the biggest problem the regime is faced with is unemployment. The IRGC (Revolutionary Guards) have now said that the country’s unemployment is a security threat therefore organisations have been established in different provinces to deal with it.

A member of the NCRI (National Council of Resistance of Iran), Yazdan Haj Hamzeh, a Political/Economic Analyst was interviewed in an article by the group. He said that an IRGC spokesman or PR officer, Sharifnami, confirmed on 30th October that the commander is planning to deal with the security threat of unemployment.

Iran: Commander warns that IRGC will be in the U.S. and Europe very soon

Adam Kredo wrote an article for the Free Beacon about the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps who are sending assets “to infiltrate the United States and Europe at the direction of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei”.

The IRGC, Iran’s elite military force, will soon be in the U.S. and Europe said the Iranian military commander. He said that the forces will be operating to strengthen the regime and to thwart any potential attacks against Iran.

Protests outside Iranian parliament coincide with Rouhani’s presence

On Tuesday 1st November, Rouhani was in Parliament to defend his three new ministers. At the same time, many people from all over Iran gathered outside the buildings in protest against the Iranian regime’s plundering of the country’s already meagre assets. The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) report that hundreds of teachers from the literacy movement, “Shandiz Padideh” shareholders, workers and employees of Telecom, business owners, and so on, attended the demonstration.

Hassan Rouhani: Lebanon Will Stand With Iran Against The “Zionist Regime”.

It looks like Iran’s dominance over Lebanon was sealed after the selection of Michel Aoun as president on Monday, according to Benny Avni at the  New York Post.

Aoun, an 81-year-old former general, is the first president in over two years and his elections speech was filled with patriotism and unity, including support for the terrorist Hezbollah force. He was once a sworn enemy of Syria, even fleeing the country for fear that he would be assassinated by Assad’s father, Hafez.

Iran: An American Citizen Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison for Facebook Posts

Iran has sentenced an American citizen to 18 years in prison for Facebook posts and “collaborating with a foreign government”.

Golamreza “Robin” Shahini, a dual national from San Diego, was handed the harshest sentence yet for foreign nationals. He has been critical of the Iranian Regime during the much disputed 2009 elections which led to the Green Revolution but denies all espionage charges.
